We have a fairly large number of content types available to our members for use in their creative expression.  Each content type is, of course, intended for a specific variety of information; in some cases, this specificity is extremely pointed.

In general, content types listed under Words is suitable for literary expression of all forms.  Under Worlds one may find content types intended primarily for use with the Super:Natural universe (and corresponding RPG) but may be used to describe any fictional reality.  Ink is the container for creations that must be experienced to be appreciated:  art and (eventually) multimedia offerings.

Member-created content types

• Blog entry - Usually a publicly-viewable diary, blogs are intended to be updated regularly and may cover just about any topic.
  Available to all Members.
• Forum topic - Creates a new discussion thread in the Forum.  Members may choose which of the Forum's primary sections under which their new topic will be found.
  Available to all Members.
• Words - Landing page for Wordsmiths and container of literary content types.
  These content types may be created by Contributing Members and above.
  • Poem - A content type for textual expression in any poetic form.  Rhythmic, rhyming or free verse.  Epic-length poetry should use a book, instead.
  • Text - This content type is intended for any sort of literary creation with a minimum of 100 words.  Texts may be used for essays, short stories, rants or any other sort of verbose expression.
  • Book page - Like this Instruction Manual, books are self-organizing collections of pages on a similar subject.  Using the built in hierarchy, a book could be organized into chapters, sub-chapters and so on.
• Worlds - Landing page for Super:Natural and related materials.
  These content types may be created by Contributing Members and above.
  • World - Create an entire world!  This, and related, content types are still under development and should be considered to be in an alpha state.  The brave (and helpful) are welcome to try this out (and provide feedback) but please note that any content in this area may be prone to large-scale changes.
    • Nation - A world may feature a nation or two upon it.  These can be detailed here.
    • City - A content type for describing permanent settlements of any size.
    • Neighborhood - A City may be so large and complex that it can be broken down into distinct districts or Neighborhoods.
  • Organization - When individuals get together to pursue a common goal, an Organization is born.  This content type may be used to describe any class of Organization from a local Scout troop to a huge, worldwide conspiracy.
  • Paradigm - This content type is used to describe the laws of physics that govern a flavor of reality.  In simplest terms, the Mortal Realm is separated from the Spiritual Realm despite how they may intersect and interrelate.  This content type is currently not available for creation, but Core Members and above may assist in editing them.
  • Race - In Super:Natural, "Race" is used in place of "species."  A character might be a member of the Human Race, for instance.  These pages are used to illustrate the racial differences from the Human baseline.
  • Character Page - Used to illustrate an individual from the Super:Natural Universe, this content type is currently stable and Contributors may add their own original characters to the worlds of the multiverse.
• Ink - Landing page for non-textual creative expression, this is where the art goes.
  Contributing members and above may create content of these types.
  • Image - Creates an Image node.  More than adding an illustration to another type of post, Images are added to the "Eye Candy" rotation featured on every page and to the Gallery.

Privileged content types

• Page - For admin staff only, a static page.  Primarily used by Site Architects to create landing pages.  By default commenting is off on this content type.
• Story - Almost identical to a Page.  Default settings have comments turned on and these nodes will be unpublished after a set time.
• Poll - Administrator use only, these are for creating polls upon which members may vote.  Currently being reviewed for use on a permanent site feedback page.
• Chat page - Creates a page for use with the phpFreeChat live chat system.  Currently under review.
• Panel - Administrators only.  Creates a page using Panels.  These are currently under review.
