Blog entry

Available to all members, a blog is a publicly-accessible online journal.  Content is solely up to the individual member.  You may expose your most intimate thoughts, provide reviews of the latest Hollywood blockbusters, or ramble endlessly on about whatever thoughts might pop into your head.

Blogs are generally regularly updated (daily or, at least, weekly) and current.  No hard and fast rules apply to the blogosphere, but there are certain generally accepted guidelines that are far from official and almost never found all together in one place.

  • Title - This is the title of this entry.  All content must have a title, so this is required.  A title may be (almost) anything you like but should generally relate to the content of your post.
  • Vocabularies - This is how the system categorizes content of various types.
    • Content Advisory - A way to keep inappropriate content from the eyes of the innocent.  The question you need to ask here is, "Would I want to be caught looking at this at work?"  This tag is required.
    • Tags - This is a free-tagging vocabulary.  You may enter a comma-separated list of terms that apply to your post.  As you type the system will make suggestions of previously created tags.  You are not required to use the suggestions or even add any tags.
  • Body - This is where you write your actual journal entry.  The rich text editor supplied (in most areas) should look and feel familiar enough to most users to be comfortable.
