These hotkey combinations may be used to help increase efficiency while utilizing the (WYSIWYG) CKEditor while creating content on this website. Even better, most of these very same hotkey combinations work in almost all WYSIWYG editors!
One of the great things about being human is muscle memory. Use these time-savers on a regular basis and, pretty soon, it will be automatic.
That's right, we just made using a computer (therefore, your life) a little easier! You're welcome. :-)
The Big Three
These commands seem capable of working even if one is merely standing close to a computer. They are nearly universal.

Ctrl + X:

Cut.

Ctrl + C:

Copy.

Paste.
Moving and highlighting without using a mouse
Touch typists: keep those hands on the home row!
Generally, one will be using these right before The Big Three or the text-formatting commands below this section.

Select (highlight) all.

Shift + Cursor Key:

Highlight while moving cursor.

Move cursor, one word at a time.

Miscellaneous Hotkeys
The following hotkey combinations may be used with CKEditor. Some of these may also apply to other word processing software, but your mileage may vary.

Ctrl + Z:
-
Undo.
-
Ctrl + Y (or Ctrl + Shift + Z):

Redo.

Ctrl + Backspace:
-
Remove previous word.
-
Ctrl + Delete:
-
Remove current word.
-
Shift + Enter:
-
Insert line break. In other words, create a new line in the current paragraph.

Tab and Shift + Tab:
-
Move to next and previous form elements (such as context menus and dialogs), respectively.

While the focus is on the editor toolbar (see below), these will move to the next and previous toolbar items, respectively.

Alt + F10:
-
When focus (cursor) is in editing area, this will move the focus to the editor toolbar.
Pressing Esc will return to the editing area without making any changes. Pressing Enter will activate the currently selected toolbar item.

Shift + F10:

This will open a context menu (menu for highlighted content, if any) inside the editing area.

Alt + F11:
-
This moves the focus to the element path bar. Tab and Shift + Tab will move between elements. Pressing Esc will put the focus back into the editing area without making any changes. Pressing Enter will select the element in the editing area.
