You may either turn on "Spell Check As You Type" (SCAYT) which underlines misspelled words in jagged red as you go, or click the Spell Check button at any time to run the interactive spell checker.
Enabling the "live" spell checking software is simple.

If you prefer, you can make use of the interactive spelling checker. Just click the button and it will start scanning. If you are familiar with the spell checking functions of other word processors, this will be familiar territory.
For those who might be unfamiliar with this sort of interface, your text will appear in the middle of the dialog. The misspelled word(s) will be highlighted there and suggestions will be made below.

Included with the spelling checker is a thesaurus. No need to be frustrated searching for the right word nor even leave this website! Simply click the Thesaurus tab in the interactive Spell Check dialog.
Each word in text for which the thesaurus has synonyms will be highlighted with a link.
Click a linked word for suggestions.
In this example, the selected word is jagged and the thesaurus offers two different groups of synonyms, rough.adj and sharp.adj.
Simply select the one you prefer and click the Change to button. When you are done enhancing your writing, click Finish Checking.
If you change your mind, click Cancel.
The options dialog allows the user some control over the spell checking software. Firstly, you may choose ignore some broad categories of terms.
More importantly, you can construct a user dictionary by Adding words the spell checker does not know but you may use on a regular basis. As a notice on the pop-up window indicates, large user dictionaries are stored on the server at SpellChecker.net due to cookie size limitations.
