Okay, so... we will be bringing the
back... er, again.
Yes, I know... at any rate, that's only the beginning. We are going to be basically tearing this whole place down, a room at a time, and building it all back up again.
There's politics and business, I hear, so the spinny ball of options everyone seemed to love so much will return. Probably just above or below the regular eye-candy. Probably above, at least for the time being.
Expect the color and layout to change at some point. We have done what we can with the current design, but... well, everyone hates it. Function before form is, to me, not a bad way to go about things.
The good news is that we are very nearly functional, at last.
On the Coming VERY SOON list: merchandise of various types via "partnership"* with CafePress.com. Yes, there is probably nothing preventing people simply snagging art from here and throwing it on a shirt with an ink jet at home, but it would be very nice if ya'll would help us keep the lights on instead so we can continue to offer all site services absolutely free.
Because, you know, we do that.
Furthermore, expect new roles. We see room for more opportunity here and will be introducing an Editor-type classification that will allow people who may not write, but happen to love language, improve things all over. We already have a(n apparently working) revision system in place to make this transition to a slightly more wiki-like site behavior easier.
Role powers and responsibilites will get shaken about, names may be changed to protect the innocent. Also, we don't really like the fact that most users who score the 100 bonus points for creating a profile are spammers or other nefarious types.
Please take the time to do this.
Super:Natural will be getting a retrorehaulfit. Decided to go diceless, and see how that works. We will be presenting a Grand Unified System featuring a single rule-set for tabletop, miniature, and live-action roleplay. We hope it'll be cool.
Demotivator
If I can manage to get my minions moving, we should be seeing some great improvements, not just in site features, but in shiny, new content! (My goodness, Margaret! That was a buzz-word!) Expect an actual webcomic (gasp!), new art (gulp!), fresh writing (achoo!), and Radical Insanity (sigh...) out the wazoo! (An industry term! My stars!)
We are currently mapping the Universe. Sort of a big project but we hope that, in the end, it'll be worth it.
And so, with no further ado, time to get to work.
*Totally bogus claim. CafePress.com is just the POD we utilize to provide such winning products.
