Effectively the whole of reality for most of humanity, the Milky Way revolves around a supermassive black hole and is shrouded by dark matter (which is well enough a discussion for a later time).  Within the light arms one may find several hundred billion stars around many of which revolve one or more planets.  Some of these support life naturally, have been seeded or, perhaps, colonized.
