Video

I remember our first television set,
this is a memory I can't forget.
It was an old cathode ray black and white,
and when it wasn't rolling there was a picture in sight.
Sometimes when the picture went array,
it took a slap on the side to come back to stay.
It had an off and on knob, one for the channels and sound,
and to watch different stations it took lots of moving around.
You could hear the tubes warming up and sometimes there was a smell.
If you were stupid enough to take the back off and touch one they were hotter than hell.
There were often one of those bad stormy days,
when the picture was perfect and the antenna blew away.
Modern televisions are such a delight,
but with the controllers there's often a fight.
I guess if every one still had to get up and change the stations,
there'd be fewer fights and lesser frustrations.
